An old Chinese bronze statuette, possibly as early as the Ming Dynasty, the Emperor Liu Bei (Xuande) of the Three Kingdoms Period. Seated upon a throne chair, his right hand raised to a jewelled sash at his chest, his robe front decorated with an incised panel replicating embroidery and depicting a horned dragon in a landscape. His beard, moustache and coiffure trail tentacle like over his sternum. Height 38 cm.
