A German SS 'Röhm' dagger with scabbard, with acid etched epithet (In Cordial Friendship) and Ernest Röhm signature to the blade and 'Meine Ehre Heist Treue' to the opposite side. The 22 cm. blade with original final grind cross-graining, scabbard 'runner' marks to either side, a small spot of surface oxidation above 'Treue', marked near the hilt with the manufacturer Carl Eickhorn, Solingen and squirrel motif in double oval. Dark stained ebony hilt with inlaid metal and enamel insignia, solid nickel crossguards without stamps, lead weighted black anodised scabbard with nickel chape with ball tip (slightly dented) and mouth, (one screw replaced). The tang stamped with the number 58. Along with a later black leather vertical hanger with clasp marked DRGM. The vendor purchased this dagger in Germany for €5000 from a man who claimed to be the son of the original owner.
