A Victorian walnut sewing or jewellery box, circa 1880s, having a slightly arched lid with a white metal cartouche and matching escutcheon, the edges crossbanded in ebony and abalone shell, the interior lined with silver grey embossed paper and having a removable partitioned tray with lidded compartments covered in red silk, the interior of the lid similarly lined; with key. Height 10 cm. Width 28.5 cm. Depth 19 cm.
