West Australian Colonial jarrah settle, c.1870-1880, maker unknown, the settle is a bolted type example which dismantles, for transportation know as a 'Miners Couch' providing, both a practical bed and also a parlour settee, the arms are constructed of three turned spindles, an upper scrolling arm rest and lower sabre style leg, the back is a single jarrah board with carved central, shell, leaves and scrolling motifs.
