A Massive pair of carved Chinese ivory tusks, Qing Dynasty, 19th century, each tusks intricately carved and undercut with scenes from a festival, probably for New Year, featuring scenes from a Chinese drama; battle scenes, one with a dragon float, the other with a Buddhist lion, musicians and dignitaries watching from pavilions. Each tusk is supported on a very heavy carved ebony base., tusks: 95 and 94 cm long, 4.060kg, and 4.038kg, stands 25.5 cm high and 47 cm wide and 21 cm deep, 26.5 cm high and 54 cm wide and 20.5 cm deep
