A very well sculpted Chinese pottery Lokapala, Tang Dynasty, 7th/8th century, the powerful figure standing in armour on a dwarf, highlighted in gold leaf, a snake around his neck, with original mineral pigments, probably from Shaanxi Province, Northern China, together with a Han Dynasty bronze arrow. 54 cm high. Dating consistent with TL test certificate W4367 from Woollongong University. Provenance: Sydney Private Collection. R & V Tregaskis
