George Brodrick was born in October 1730 and succeeded as 3rd Viscount Midleton in the Peerage of Ireland, on the death of his father on 8 June, 1747. He married Lavinia, sister of the 1st Viscount Sydney in 1752 and died in August 1765. Of the couple's four sons Charles became Archbishop of Cashel and John became a General in the army
