Exceptionally rare 17th or early 18th century copy of a Chinese Kraak design dish, with floral borders and panels. The underside with underglaze blue vines and a central encased cross mark. Three spur marks which separated the plate from the one below during firing. This dish was evidently made in Japan for the Chinese market and bears a later metal band around the rim and incised owners mark in the cavetto. Minor firing faults. Diameter 21 cm
