Finely potted elongated baluster vase. Decorated with three seated figures playing a board game. In pastel famille rose enamels on a coral and gilded ground. Turquoise inner and underside. Has a china stamp mark to underside with old 'Made in Chienamels77' label. The vase has been lamped and a hole in base has obscured an apocryphal reign mark Jinqing (1796-1820). Note: the china stamp mark became mandatory on exports to US and England in December 1890 and was changed to 'Made in china', C. 1920. The combination of the two marks together with the Western style face decoration of the figures confirms the date of manufacture, c. 1920. Height 34.5 cm
