1979 Carlton Premiership Medal, front design of a footballer by Andor Meszaros (1900-72), reverse engraved 'Presented by the Victorian Football League To A. Jesaulenko, Coach'. Together with perspex display stand engraved 'A.Jesaulenko (Coach)'. Alex Jesaulenko's 'Coach' Medal, representing perhaps his finest moment in football. 'Jezza' was in fact the last playing coach in the VFL/AFL to lead his team to a premiership. The Grand Final was only the second game all year in which Carlton did not get to 100 points. It was the fifth Grand Final between Collingwood and Carlton; and Carlton's fourth of 5 consecutive Grand Final wins - to this day - over Collingwood. Carlton President, George Harris remarked during the post-match celebrations, that the only thing better than beating Collingwood by 10 goals was beating them by 5 points!
