A fine Chinese Republican period porcelain vase, the two finely painted semi-rectangular panels of scenes of paired birds, the rooster and hen amongst bamboo and foliage, the silver pheasants amongst thorned rambling vines and other foliage, the ground with relief and gilded decoration of dragons and Buddhist emblems, the two tightly relief decorated side mons of two pairs of entwined dragons finely enamelled in scale type effect, conforming blue to the rims with further gilt highlights, celadon glazed interior, apocryphal painted red Ch'ien-Lung (Qianlong) mark to the base, 20th century . Height 35 cm, hair crack to rim, minor rubbing to gilt.
