A rare West Australian Colonial jarrah chest of drawers, c.1870, manufactured in the Victorian style, with two half size drawers, over four full size drawers, with turned handles, and ½ round corner pillars, upon a plinth base. Height 130.5 cm. Width 123 cm. Depth 54 cm. Provenance: See inner drawer labels, 'Old Spanish mahogany. Guy Hampden from mother. June 14th 1929'. Guy Essex Hampden was the great grandson of John Hampton Esq. who was the Governor of Western Australia during the 1860's
