A Doulton Lambeth stoneware ewer by Mark V. Marshall, decorated with stylised thistles, the flower-heads swelling from the cylindrical body, the leaves in cobalt outlined with trailed slip, mottled brown glazed at the shaped rim and foot, the loop handle with a raised leaf pattern. Impressed factory marks and 'Art Union of London' along with incised artist's initials. Hairline at lower handle joint. Height 26.5 cm
