A carved ivory tusk by Sosai, Meiji period of slightly curved form, the exterior carved in relief with a man holding a fan and cherry blossom bough, dancing with two maidens, and another man smoking a pipe resting his large baskets of flowers suspended on a pole, standing beside a maiden and small boy carrying a pot plant, all in a continuous landscape of pine, cherry and bamboo and with thatched huts nearby, signed on a plaque Sosai, 23.6 cm
