A Louis XVI gilt bronze and Carrara marble portico clock, French, circa 1780 the drum case surmounted by a Chinese figure holding a cane and surrounded by a wreath, supported by a pair of obelisk columns with applied gilt bronze trophies, surmounted with Oriental finials and raised on a black marble plinth base, raised on chased feet, the white enamelled dial with Roman numerals within a faux diamond border, with a twin train movement with silk suspension and outside countwheel, striking on a bell, with faux diamond and gilt sun-burst pendulum, 34 cm wide, 14 cm deep, 49 cm high
