A Chinese famille-verte 'bogu' vase, 19th century of compressed baluster shape, the body tapering out from a short flaring base to a broad shoulder and waisted neck, painted around the body and the neck in aubergine, green and yellow with scholar's objects, antiques, and auspicious emblems between decorative borders and against a green field, the neck with slender dragons amidst lotus flowers against a lavender ground, underglaze double-ring mark to the base, 44.8 cm high
