Westley Richards pin fire 12 bore side by side big game double rifle. Serial number 11617. Circa 1868. Top lever breech loading - Westley Richards patent. Five leaf sight to 250 yards. 28' Damascus barrels nicely browned with mint bores. High quality engraving to side locks, trigger guard and butt plate. Barrel address - Westley Richards 170 New Bond Street, London Whitworth patent. Walnut stock with cheek piece and pistol grip with fine checkering. Fore-end horn tipped. Dollies head action used on this rifle is still used today by the same company for their big game rifles. Very rare rifle in original excellent condition. Contained in original oak brass cornered case, ring top handle, green felt lined with some accessories - cleaning rod, tin of Rangoon Oil and chamber brush. Retailer was William Bishop of Bond Street London. Also comes with a certificate of authenticity from Westley Richards.
