Manufacturer's sticker to base 'Gavina Made in Italy'. Circa 1968. The B3 is an iconic chair, originally designed in 1925 for Wassily Kandinsky's quarters at the Dessau Bauhaus. It was particularly revolutionary in its use of tubular steel and its method of construction. In 1962 Italian manufacturers Gavina began to re-issue the Model B3 chair and marketed the chair as the Wassily. Gavina was acquired by Knoll International in 1968
