A fine pair of Louis XV style gilt bronze Rococo wall appliques in the manner of Jacques Caffieri, French, circa 1840, of grand proportions, each with three arms cast with scrolling foliage and oak leaves, wired for electricity (2), 61 cm wide, 82 cm high. Provenance: Purchased in 1971 by the current owner from Ugo Camiciotti at Galleria Camiciotti, Florence, ItalyNote: Jacques Caffieri (1678 - 1755) was a leading designer and chaser in bronze during the Louis XV period and his work can be found at the Royal Palaces of Versailles and Fontainebleau.
