A rare West Australian Colonial jarrah and cedar, gothic revival card table, c.1880, maker unknown, decorated with two heavy turned support columns, with turned decorative knobs, with lower turned, stretcher spindle of similar form, with carved scrolling, feet and porcelain castors., the front and side rails are of carved serpentine form, having a sliding fold-out top, and interior compartment, for storing game playing pieces. Height 77 cm; top 104 x 96.5 cm (folded out). Note: the construction of this piece of furniture is very, unusual. The inside table carcase is constructed of solid jarrah timbers with outer cedar veneers.
