Dally Messenger's 1910 Kangaroos Cap, in blue, black & maroon, with metal embroidery on front 'Australasia/ Rfl/(Kangaroo & Silver Fern)/1910', and tassle on top, with initials 'H.H.' inside. In very good condition, with slight deterioration to two cloth sections to reverse. Unique. Herbert Henry 'Dally' Messenger (1883-1959) was one of Australasia's first professional rugby footballers, recognised as one of the greatest ever players in either code. The Dally M. Medal is awarded in his honour to Australian rugby league's best player each year in honour of his contribution to the game.
