Rare antique Chinese porcelain baluster vase decorated in Canton famille rose enamels with panels of birds, butterflies and flowers, leiwen (thunder pattern) borders, all on a crackled off-white glaze. Apocryphal Ming dynasty, Chenghua (1465–1487) mark underneath, but late Qing dynasty, c. 1850. Some expected minor signs of wear and use. Height 34 cm.
