Massive and quite rare antique Chinese porcelain meat platter decorated in Canton famille rose enamels with the rose medallion design; alternating panels of birds, butterflies, flowers with mountain river scenes, heavily gilded around a central medallion, modelled with a gravy well. 3rd quarter of the 19th century, Tongzhi reign period. Some expected relatively minor wear to enamels and gilding. The foot slightly ground, presumably to make it sit balanced. 48 x 37.5 cm
