Provenance: Ex Patrick Jameson Estate Air Commodore Patrick Geraint Jameson was a New Zealand er born in Wellington 1912, who flew with the Royal Airforce in World War II to great accalim. He was awarded the Distinguished flying cross, a bar to the DFC and a Distingiushed service Order. In the early 1970s Jameson inherited Dardistown Castle, Ireland, complete with contents from the estate of Harry Osbourne, in recognition of their friendship and his heroic actions during World War II. Jameson returned to New Zealand to convalesce after developing tuberculosis. As a result the castle was sold and most of the contents brought out to New Zealand .
