Extremely rare Chinese porcelain ginger jar decorated in famille verte enamels, with the phoenix and peony design, all on a crackled brownish-white glaze. Late Qing dynasty. Lamped (drilled) for electricity. Wiring requires replacement. Note: the phoenix and peony design was common to the Nonya or Straits Chinese porcelain, made for the Babas of Singapore and the Malacca Straits regions. Height 48 cm, jar 26.5 cm
