Chinese carved stone stele fragment of the Bodhisattva Guanyin, probably Ming dynasty (1368-1644), by repute from a cave shrine in Shandong province, carved in low relief with large downcast eyes and serene expression, wearing jewellery, the hair braided in an elaborate manner, surrounded by scrolling clouds. Provenance: Originally in the Alan Pullar Collection, bought by the current owner in 1967, 440 x 34 cm
