A mid 18th century Meissen armorial serving tray from the Munchhausen service. Shaped sides and scroll cup handles. Painted in magenta with a stag and cow in a landscape with flowers and butterflies. Gilt borders and painted coat of arms. Blue crosse swords mark. The Munchhausen service was originally a gift from Augustus III, King of Poland and Elector of Saxony to Gerlach Adolf von Munchhausen in 1745. Length 44 cm
