An early 20th century Maori carved 'Pouaka' tinder box, the stylised figure bent over clasping his feet, his back as the box, the domed cover with two full relief stylised figures, clasping their extended tongues, all-over notch, linial and spiral carving, paua inset eyes, mounted on a chamfered rectangular stand. Provenance: Carved by Harry Lamb, ex. a descendant of Lamb's. Lamb carved a kiwi figure given to Lloyd Cobham. 8 x 14.5 x 19.5 cm
