Superb wahaika, all over deep relief linear h'h' carving to blade. Male and female coupling figures to incurve with hands wrapped around torso with carved moko to chins and cheek. Masks with protruding split tongue to either side of handle above a finely carved manaia with protruding tongue. Pierced hole for attachment with natural muka cord attached. Wood shell muka. Late 19th century. Height 35.5 cm. Width 15 cm
