Matau-fishing hook, a fish hook of good proportions with a curved gnarled wooden shank fashioned from a native hardwood sapling. The iron hook has been attached to the shank with muka (flax fibre) cord Hardwood iron plant fibre. Collection number inscribed in black ink 'Webster Coll 543'. Contact Period. Length 15.7 cm.
