Circa 1987-90 four modern glass vases by Brian Hirst, including red tinted and sandblasted glas with gold leaf, etched signature and date to base. 24 cm, 15 cm, 14 cm high . (4). Notes: Brian Hirst b, 1954, is one of Australia's leading glassmakers, known both locally and internationally for his ceremonial and votive vessels. He often uses ancient, elemental forms which he fuses into a contemporary language with his materials. His work is in numerous national and international collections including National Gallery of Australia, National Gallery of Victroia, Corning Museum NY, USA, Museum of modern Art, Kyoto Japan, Kunstmuseum, Dusseldorf, Germany and private collections
