Two modern glass vases by Brian Hirst, circa 1989, comprising a 'Votive' bowl, the deep gilded border above the studded buff-toned body, together with a tall turquoise blue glass tapered vase on a cobalt blue ball-shaped pedestal on a domed foot. Notes: Brian Hirst b, 1954, is one of Australia's leading glassmakers, known both locally and internationally for his ceremonial and votive vessels. He often uses ancient, elemental forms which he fuses into a contemporary language with his materials.
