Rare ottoman war shield, 17th century, Turkey, Turkish ottoman steel-mounted Islamic shield with central wooden core, bound with a spiral of cane or thick rattan and covered with coloured cotton threads. The central piece is covered with a steel dome and outer circumference steel ring, connected with 30 steel ribs with brass imitation coin discs. Diameter 26 cm
