A black raw silk cocktail dress by Christian Dior, circa 1960 labelled ' Christian Dior-London, Modele original, made in England', with bateau neckline and short gusetted kimono sleeves, cut with a drop waist and gathered skirt finished with a draped and pleated bow, numbered : 25996, labelled size 12. Provenance: The dress was the property of the Hon. Margaret Dorothea Layton (1911-1962), eldest child of Walter Thomas Layton, 1st Baron Layton.
