An 18th century Danish gilt metal mounted walnut, marquetry and parcel gilt bureau attributed to Matthias Ortmann, Copenhagen, circa 1740, the shaped cornice above two arched panelled doors, the lower section with fall front writing surface opening to drawers and storage compartments, above a single frieze drawer and three serpentine full length drawers, the whole with marquetry inlay in wood and polychrome painted bone raised on scroll carved gilt wood cabriole feet, 130 x 265 x 62 cm. note: for a similar example see Christie's London, 6th July 2012, Lot 104.
