Shell Advertising Air-Drop leaflet: 1917 souvenir paper parachute and attached shell shaped weight, sponsored by 'Shell' for release from Basil Watson's Biplane, using 'Shell' Benzine / Tasmania 1917. Extremely fine - unused and rare. (Watson (1894-1917) was born in Bendigo, in 1894. with Harry Hawker he went to England to train at the Sopwith Plant and became a test pilot. on his return to Australia he took up barnstorming and 'rial mail fl ights. He died in a crash over Laverton, WA, 28th March 1917. The souvenir parachutes and weights were never released due to his untimely death.)
