Firth'. Arthur temple Clifton Firth, born c1867, a Son of J C Firth, joined Colonial sugar Company and at age of 20 moved to a branch in New South ales, Australia. Josiah Clifton Firth (1826-1897), of Matamata Estate, was a strong supporter of military volunteer movement and provided various prizes, including medals for marksmanship, as the obverse of these medals suggest. It is understood that Firth presented medals to four of his Sons, of which this is one. Miss Mona Gordon, Firth's granddaughter, gave this medal to Lt-Col T C Wallace, of Cambridge, who gifted it to John Gibson.) RARE. Together with (2) another example of J. C.
