A Victorian sterling silver tea pot, samuel Hayne and Dudley Cater, London, 1856/7, numbered 7862, in a hybrid rococo Moorish manner, octagonal on a spreading foot, the sides with raised panels alternately blank and chased with figures, one with a couped gryphon rampant armorial, the body otherwise chased with Moorish-style pointed decoration, the hinged cover conforming and with a finial in the form of a seated Arab. Height 22 cm. Weight 918gr.
