A rare, and very early alabaster slush lamp, with wrought iron hanger. These are the simplest form of lamp & are virtually unchanged from ancient times. Tallow and animal fat is poured into the tray a simple wick of cloth or rush burn at the edges. From Southern Tasmania. 18 cm diameter
