An old Maori carved patu paraoa (whalebone hand club), the traditional wide spatulate blade with remains of old label, tapered grip, ovoid butt end forming to a point, counter sunk suspension hole, semi-polished finish. Length 40.5 cm. Provenance: Old label attached faintly detailed 'Found on....hill in Waitotara Valley c.1950' and 'mere mere'
