A large Japanese embroidered textile Meiji period (1868-1912), the detailed scene featuring a peacock and peahen beside a rivers edge with flowering chrysanthemums, the whole densely worked in silk threads couched and padded further highlighted with gold wrapped coil work to the reserve all laid upon a muslin ground, edged in a later cloth mitred border with hanging supports, (some pulled areas), the embroidery 116 x 175 cm.
