An Art Deco diamond single-stone ring, by Georges Lenfant, circa 1930, the old brilliant-cut diamond, weighing 4.87 carats, set between baguette-cut diamond shoulders, workshop mark Gl for Georges Lenfant, French assay mark for platinum, ring size N. Accompanied by a certificate from the gem studies laboratory (Gsl) stating that the diamond is I colour, SI1 clarity. Certificate number AA49461, dated 14th February 2012. Georges Lenfant is renowned for being one of the most important Jewellers of the twentieth century. His Parisian workshop produced and supplied fine jewellery to esteemed jewellery houses including Cartier, van Cleef & Arpels, Hermes, and Mellerio, the present lot is a fine example of the refined stylistic elegance of the Art Deco period, as well as the artistry of this celebrated French workmaster
