A French late 18th century Louis XVI eight day gilt bronze mounted white marble portico clock, the enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals inscribed Cortel a Paris, time and strive movement unmarked, housed within a drum suspended between fluted tapering columns surmounted with pineapple finials, the drum with an urn finial issuing flowers, all on an oval black marble plinth with disk feet, with a sunburst pendulum, 29 cm wide, 9 cm deep, 17 cm high.
