A Japanese lacquer and gilt decorated ladies card case, signed Moho Saku,Meiji period, Recto worked with a scene of possibly Kinkaku-ji (, temple of the golden Pavilion), verso a pair of peacocks against chrysanthemums, the male standing on a piece of rock, the left panel of the interior partitioned into two, one fitted with a mirror, the other with two small partitions with hinged cover, decorated with scenes of Fuji mountain, the right panel of the interior fixed with an elastic band, a small gilt mark of a mountain to the centre, the side of case decorated with band of floral patterns, the whole against a black ground. 6.8 cm x 9 cm x 1.4 cm.
