A pair of hexagonal Japanese cloisonne vases, Meiji period, of slender ovoid form, worked with copper wire against a black ground filled with wired coil pattern, the body richly decorated with large and small medallions of various plants and insects, including sakura, wisteria, orchid, morning glory, peony, chrysanthemum and butterflies, fish scale pattern on a moss ground to the foot rim. 30 cm high
