A Japanese cloisonne box and cover, Meiji period, worked in silver wire with different plants and animals including phoenix, dragon, butterfly, chrysanthemum, and lotus, the body and the cover against backgrounds of dark green and brown, the base lined with a band of cloud motifs, the underside decorated with three chrysanthemum heads amidst leafy scrolls against an orange ground, the interior fitted with embroidery of morning glory also among scrolls against a light brown background. 11.5 cm x 9 cm x 4.5 cm
