A Japanese Katani Buddha, late 19th century, the Buddha standing bare-footed, with a kind smile on his face, his large ear lobes touching his shoulders, dressed in long flowing robes decorated with floral scrolls, knotted below his navel to reveal a hairy chest and belly, his left hand holding a large ball, his right hand, a bag thrown over his shoulder. 29 cm high.
