A large Japanese Arita charger, circa 1900, Its shallow interior painted in bordered panels with phoenix, the space between the panels filled with painted peonies, its rim decorated with bordered panels of dragons, separated by patterns of birds and flowers, the underside painted with floral scrolls of peony, prune, and chrysanthemum, the base with a large blue ring mark. 55 cm diameter.
