A gilt-bronze Tibetan mythical beast carrying a stupa, 18th/ 19th century, the whole cast in two sections, one of the beast carrying the base of the stupa on its back, the other of the top of the stupa, the beast looking back, hind legs kneeling, its head with two horns and a vajras, its hair un-gilded, the base of the stupa consisting of a square section surmounting a double lotus base, the top with a bell shaped base supporting a set of nine graduated Buddhist umbrellas surmounted by a double-lotus finial, below a crescent moon and sun symbol. 35 cm high (total)
