A Japanese Buddha Sakyamuni, 19th century, carved wood with gilded lacquer, seated in dhyana mudra, his robe about his shoulders, on a stepped lotus throne with a flaming mandala carved with a deep border of scrolling clouds, the whole raised on a waisted hexagonal pedestal base. 34 cm high
